When entering and leaving the building it is tradition to bow to Sensei to show good respect. It is also respectful for the students to bow to each other when greeting each other before class
Before entering the Dojo shoes must be off and neatly placed aside.
Students uniforms must be clean. Hands and feet must be clean. Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed. These rules are non-negotiable and must be applied or the student will not be allowed to train.
Under no circumstances is food allowed anywhere near the Dojo.
Belts must be tied correctly and tight before entering the Dojo. Anyone who does not bring their belt to class must stand at the end of the class line-up.
Before entering the Dojo. The student must bow to show respect for the place of learning.
Students will line-up according to belt rank from highest to lowest and quietly stand at attention. The senior student will command the other students to turn and bow to Sensei when he enters the Dojo with a loud “Osu”.
Students are to always show enthusiasm and give 100% while training. Respect, focus, patience, self- control, and compassion are to be demonstrated at all times. Failure to do so will ensure an immediate dismissal from the Dojo.
When demonstrating techniques with Sensei or when working with a fellow student always bow before and after the technique is shown or performed.
When leaving the Dojo always bow into the Dojo to show respect and thank Sensei for the lesson. Exit quietly.
